This year, Rand McNally introduced a new in-cab navigation tablet for the commercial driving community. Introducing the TND Tablet 1050! The tablet, which retails online for $700, has been upgraded and enhanced for 2022 utilizing driver input to help bring its advanced features to the forefront.

What’s It Got?

This tablet is powered by Rand Navigation, providing 33% more truck-specific road data than most other GPS providers. It has a 10-inch high-definition screen with advanced mapping and eye-popping graphics, a heavy-duty Corning Gorilla Glass screen (making it more scratch and crack resistant), and a removable tablet guard to keep it safe from a bad case of butterfingers or the dropsies.

With three separate mounting choices, drivers will have more options to choose from in regard to where and how they want their tablet displayed. A dash mount with adhesive screws, a ball mount bracket and a windshield suction cup mount are what drivers will have to consider when setting up to travel.

Navigation

Speaking of travel, navigation is and always has been what Rand McNally is best known for.

An advanced, louder, and clearer sounding voice guidance system will announce what’s ahead before you get there. Complicated interchanges, steep grades and difficult turns will be alerted to the driver in plenty of time thanks to Rand McNally’s Geographic Information System. Its engineers update and supplement the mapping on a year-round basis.

Rand McNally’s navigation includes thousands of additional low bridges, 28,000 more miles of weight-restricted roads, and 15,000 more miles of truck-prohibited roads. All designed with the goal of keeping drivers safe and informed while they keep on truckin’.

Other Bells and Whistles

The TND Tablet 1050 also allows for quick view options when it comes to finding travel centers and fuel stops at upcoming exits. Drivers can see what fuel prices lie ahead, plus they can track their fuel purchases and calculate fuel economy all on this one-stop-shop of a tablet.

Set maintenance and service alerts. Set warnings for speed limit changes and sharp curves. View upcoming junctions with a split screen display and lane guidance, all in glorious 3-D, to help manage complex interchanges.

Keep an eye on the weather, show upcoming forecasts. View estimated toll costs, and compare routes, if avoiding tolls can be managed.  Major construction ahead? You’ll get an update. Looking for weigh stations or service/repair shops? There are millions of points of interest locations uploaded into this machine!
